An Affiliate Member in Sandtray Therapy is an educator contributing to the field through:
Research,
Conducting training, or
Providing sand tray play in school settings.
Additionally, you must:
Demonstrate an interest in Sand Therapy that benefits the association.
Provide a strong rationale for how your involvement supports the association (e.g., expertise in managing not-for-profit organisations).
Be exempt from providing documentation (see Clause A, if applicable).
Affiliate members may:
Deliver Sand Therapy-specific Professional Development.
Advertise via our Facebook page, provided the content aligns with our set guidelines and is recognised as relevant by the membership.
Clause A: Documentation Exemption Affiliate Members may be exempt from providing standard documentation if they meet one or more of the following criteria:
Extensive Professional Experience – If a person has significant hands-on expertise in Sandtray Therapy but lacks formal qualifications, their experience can serve as an alternative credential. Their experience can serve as an alternative credential. RPL is available in the resource section
Recognised Contributions – Members who actively engage in research, training, or advocacy within the field may be eligible, as their work directly supports and advances Sandtray Therapy.
Unique Expertise Benefiting the Association – Individuals with specialised knowledge (e.g., how to manage a not-for-profit organisation) could qualify if their skills provide tangible benefits to the association.
Equivalent Credentials or Related Experience – If an applicant holds credentials in a related discipline or demonstrates relevant experience, the membership committee may accept those qualifications in place of standard documentation.
Case-by-Case Assessment – Those with an interest in Sandtray therapy coming from a lived experience! Each exemption request will be evaluated individually to ensure it aligns with the association’s mission and goals
